John 10:10, Jesus Came To Bring You Abundant Life.

In John 10:10 Jesus compares the thief to himself.

The Meaning of Abundant life is that Jesus brings comes freely to us, while the thief came to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus gives a multitude of blessings, life, and the ability to grow with him.

9 I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.

Jesus Speaking In the Bible; John 10;9-10

Life in abundance can’t be achieved in fullness here on earth. It’s just not possible since the world is so sinful.

However, I believe that we can catch a glimpse of it. We can follow Jesus, listen to his voice, and help the Holy Spirit transform the world. All of this comes from the abundant life that Jesus brought with him.

What Does It Mean To Have Abundant Life In John 10:10?

If Jesus came to restore our relationship with God, we can conclude that a restored relationship would probably include abundant life, right? In light of that, I propose we should for perfect people in the Bible that had no sin. No sin means they had perfect relationships with God.

Not a long list right?

Feel free to double-check my list, but Jesus, Adam, and Eve are the winners of this search. Granted the final two fell at some point in their lives, but it’s interesting to think they experienced both abundant life and the life we have. I think a good examination of their lives can show us what Abundant life in Jesus actually is.

Adam & Eve Experienced Abundant Life

The first book of the Bible is called Genesis, and it describes the creation of the world, and what it was like before the fall. Sin didn’t just affect us, it changed the universe, and it made things that were infinite, finite.

Prior to the fall, Adam & Eve lived in The Garden of Eden, they walked around naked, eating fruits from trees. The Bible also talks about some rivers and basically describes a large paradise.

Adam & Eve lived with God and even walked with him at certain times of the day (Genesis 3 says he walked with them during the cool of the day). When you’re living life with the creator of the universe, walking with him in a Garden Daily, that seems like it’d be a full and abundant life.

Eventually, Adam & Eve sinned, and they were cast out of the Garden. This breaks them, disconnecting them from God, and by default, this extended to all of us. To lose that connection, and with that, we lost that connection the life.

What Is The Lesson From John 10:10?

The Bible speaks briefly about the 1st Adam (Adam) and the 2nd Adam (Jesus). Jesus came to earth with abundant life. He came so we could reconnect with God, and finally experience it for ourselves. I find it interesting that he never lost that abundant life. Which means we can tap into it here on earth. He was always in communion with God the father, his father. When he came to earth, his mission was to restore the bond that Adam had broken.

Jesus’ life is full of helping people. He healed the sick, raised the dead, and saved widows. There are countless things he did, and in John 21:25 John states that the world couldn’t contain the books of things he’s done.

The life Jesus wants you to have is right in front of you. All you have to do is reach out to him, and ask for it.

John 10:10 How Can I Recieve Abundant Life?

First off, receive abundant life, you have to realize that fullness comes from Jesus. I’m writing this article, and Easter is not that far away. On Easter Jesus died and rose again. By doing this he set us free from the chains of sin and death. These are the prisons we placed ourselves in, and he came, died, and freed us.

He came to give life and to give victory to us in all our lives.

A Life Of Fullness Is Your Choice John 10:10

We all make decisions, and we all have our failures. I’m sure many people reading this can think of many great failures they’ve committed. However, Jesus doesn’t look at that. If you accept him into your heart and follow him daily. Your mistakes aren’t going to matter anymore.

When you follow Jesus, a whole new life opens up for you. It’s a life that doesn’t become easy, it’s filled with new challenges, and issues to overcome. Yet somehow having him next to you, guiding you, and helping you. It all becomes easier, as long as you continue to follow him. This is the abundant life you will see here on earth.

You’ll never be alone, and he is always someone you can turn to.

In my life, I’ve had heartache, pain, and depression. And all of that got worse the day I chose to follow Jesus. However, having him in my life gave me strength, hope, and peace. I say this because it’s not easy, but it’s rewarding.

I’ve been a follower of Jesus for years now, and I would never want to live my life without him. I couldn’t survive, he’s my strength, my guide, and the one who helps me through everything.

John 10:10 The Source Of Abundant Life

Life to the fullest doesn’t include stuff. Instead, an abundant means, that God is here, walking alongside you. He cries with you, laughs with you, and picks you up when the storm knocks you down.

That is what Jesus came to do, and I suspect this is the tip of the iceberg. He truly does love us, All you need to do is accept him. Ask him into your heart, to forgive you for sinning against him, and to be with you from now on.

Jesus came, died for you, and rose again defeating death. He did this all just for the chance of you getting to know him. That’s how much he loves you, and it’s your choice.

How We Fail To Live An Abundant Life

When we fail it’s because we disconnect from our source. And when we disconnect from the source, we stop believing. Belief is the main way to connect with God. Your faith in him and how you can hear him is directly related to your faith in him.

When we disconnect, we stop believing. So if Jesus is the one who’s giving us life, what happens when we’re not connected to that life? I’ll tell you some of the things that happen below.

  • Disbelief
  • Confusion
  • Depression
  • Stagnation
  • Death

If God created the world, and we sinned. Our sin disconnects us from God, the creator of life. So we become shadows of who we were made to be. (This is how many people exist). But Jesus came as the way, and he showed us the way to freedom.

All we need to do is accept Jesus, and believe in him. I hope and pray you to do too. It’s the best choice I’ve ever made.
