1 John 5: Having Faith in The Son of God
1 John 5 is about loving God and having faith in him. Here we learn how we can be saved, and we have a testimony of the Trinity.
Receiving eternal life is a gift from God. But it’s not just about eternal life, it’s about the life we were created to live, the life that would fulfill us the most, and that life is with God in heaven.
Nobody is sent to hell, instead, people choose it when they reject God. It’s a terrifying prospect, but if God is the source of all that is good. Rejecting him is also rejecting what he brings.

1 John 5: Faith in the Son of God, And How To Be Saved
5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. 3 Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.
4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 5 And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

1 John 5: How Do I Know That I am Saved?
1 John 5 explains perfectly how to be saved. You need to believe that Jesus is the Christ and that the love of God has to be in you.
The love being inside of you is something that is learned and grows, so don’t worry if you don’t have that. Just keep trying. However, the believing part is a necessity.
If you don’t believe Jesus is Christ and don’t believe he’s the Son of God, what’s the point? Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14 That if Christ hadn’t been raised from the dead, then our faith is useless.
When you believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit will bring you to all truth and unity in the body of Christ. He’ll convict you of sin, and your life will be transformed. It doesn’t mean things will be better.
In my experience, things get worse, but you’ll never be alone because he’ll always be right next to you. All you have to do is reach out to him, and you can do that anywhere.
Just Say:
Jesus I need you, please come into my life and forgive me of my sins. I believe you are the Son of God, and you died and rose again for me.
Please transform my life, and show me how to follow you. Thank you Jesus.
Amen

All you need to do is ask and then live for him.
The asking is easy and the living is hard, but it’s rewarding and I’d highly recommend it.
1 John 5: The Testimony Of the Trinity
6 And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross—not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with his testimony. 7 So we have these three witnesses— 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and all three agree.
9 Since we believe in human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son. 10 All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son.
11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

1 John 5: The Testimony of The Trinity
1 John 5 shows us how the physical world shadows the spiritual, and sometimes we see glimpses of it. These verses are foreshadowing.
God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are 3 in 1. That shadows us as we are all spirit soul and body. When the bible says we are made in the image of God, it isn’t just using metaphorical language.
We are children of God. Some are living in rebellion and some aren’t. The ones who aren’t will be rewarded by God and the ones who are will be punished.
Ultimately those who continue to rebel will be sent away from him. They close their hearts off from him, and since love, joy, and peace come from him. They are choosing to live in a place away from that.
A loving God doesn’t send people to hell.
Rebellious people choose it, and they choose it by rejecting God. When you reject him, you reject everything he gives, which sends you to a place devoid of him.
That’s why rebellion is so detrimental to the soul. He loves you and wants you to feel joy and love, but if you reject him, you choose to live without that.
1 John 5: You Can Know That You’re Saved
13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
16 If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. 17 All wicked actions are sins, but not every sin leads to death.
18 We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. 19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

1 John 5: How To Receive Eternal Life:
If you believe in the Son of God, you will have eternal life. This means following him and including him in your life. Be a disciple of him, not just a convert.
I woke up this morning and spent time with God, and nothing crazy happened except a realization. My heart wanted to keep going until I knew his presence went with me today. I can’t do this without him and don’t want to either.
When you walk with God, something in your life changes, it isn’t that you won’t face trials (some false preachers will teach that). I think I face more problems when God is with me.
The difference comes in facing problems, when God is with me, I have the creator of the universe fighting alongside me and when he’s not, I’m fighting alone.
Fighting alone in this life is not an option.
When you find yourself fighting and realize God isn’t with you, stop and invite him into your life. Bringing him into the situation brings his wisdom, authority, and power. Whatever you do, don’t live your life without him.
1 John 5:21 is the last verse in this chapter and one of the most telling, keep your hearts from things that take God’s place. In different translations, it says to keep yourselves from idols.
That is anything that takes your love of God and puts it on an object. Objects can be people, places, or things. Keep your hearts pure and focused.
I think we can learn a lot from 1 John 5 and many of us need to make some life adjustments.
